Bill limits his practice to the areas of estate planning and administration, incapacity planning, Medicaid, asset protection planning, and elder law. He is one of (15) fifteen attorneys practicing in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, certified in Elder Law (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation. He has attained a rating of AV by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available for legal ability and ethics; was named in the November 2004 and 2007 Washingtonian Magazine as one of the top Elder Law attorneys in the region; was named in the December 2005 Virginia Business Magazine as one of Virginia's Legal Elite in Wills, Trusts, and Estates; and was selected as 2006 Virgina Super Lawyer appearing in the July 2006 issue of Virginia Super Lawyers magazine.
