Linda S. Melancon, the owner of Legacy Estate & Elder Law of Louisiana, L.L.C., has a practice devoted to helping Louisiana families leave a lasting legacy.

She does this through her work in the areas of Elder Law, Medicaid planning, VA benefits planning, estate planning, successions, probate, and special needs planning. As an accomplished speaker, Ms. Melancon also regularly presents educational seminars for the public, as well as private groups, on the importance of proper estate planning.

Ms. Melancon graduated magna cum laude from Mercer University with a double major in business administration and history and then attended Louisiana State University Law School, where she graduated with her Juris Doctor degree in 1997. 

After graduating from law school, Ms.Melancon began practicing in Ascension Parish, Louisiana.

While in law school, Ms. Melancon received the Order of the Coif award for graduating in the top 10% of her class, was a member of the Louisiana Law Review and received the CALI award for attaining the highest grade in her Business Associations class. Ms. Melancon is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and a member of the Louisiana Elder Law Task Force..
