Attorney Smith earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University at Long Beach; she earned graduate hours from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and from George State University in Atlanta; and she earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia, School of Law in Athens, Georgia.
Attorney Smith's legal training, includes the completion of estate planning and elder law seminars over the years, as well as the completion of annual continuing legal education courses required by the Supreme Court of Tennessee, Board of Professional Responsibility. Attorney Smith is a trained mediator.
Attorney Smith’s many years of legal experience include: 24 years in private practice, administrative judge with E.E.O.C., assistant city attorney and city prosecutor with the City of Memphis, attorney ad litem and guardian ad litem court appointments, and contract mediator with E.E.O.C. Currently, Attorney Smith serves as a Part-Time Divorce Referee with Shelby County Government (Circuit Court) and Part-Time Court Appointed Attorney with Juvenile Court.
Attorney Smith is a member of various professional organizations, including the Ben F. Jones Chapter of the National Bar Association; she is a member of various community organizations, such as Beat the Odds, Inc.; and she continues to be pro-active in community projects and causes facing the elderly and the youth.
