Kara T. Burgess, Elder Law and Special Needs Planning attorney graduated from Northwest Missouti State University with a Psychology degree in 1980. In 1983 she received her Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In 1987 she graduated from the UMKC School of Law. Ms. Burgess' practice areas include Elder Law, Medicaid Planning and Asset Protection, Special Needs Trusts, Guardianships and VA Benefits planning. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Missouri Chapter of NAELA. Ms. Burgess serves on the Board of Directors for Triality, Inc., a not-for-profit agency that provides day habilitation services for adults with disabilities. In addition, Ms. Burgess serves as a volunteer attorney for an area hospice agency.
