Ms. Eason has a diverse business background and is part of our Elder Law practice group. For over a year, Ms. Eason served as a certified legal intern for the University of Pittsburgh Elder Law Clinic, where she directly assisted seniors and their families in a variety of legal matters. In this role, Ms. Eason gained experience in seeking guardianship appointments, drafting estate planning documents, and resolving Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid issues.
Ms. Eason served as a legal intern for the Pittsburgh State Health Insurance Assistance Program, in which she counseled Medicare applicants and participants in plan selection, eligibility and benefits. Also she interned for two state court judges.
Ms. Eason gives numerous in-depth presentations to various groups, including an AARP chapter and retirement community, wherein she explains the different parts of the Medicare program, as well as discussing the importance of executing estate planning documents.
Ms. Eason is the author of several articles focusing on Medicare, mental health care, and nursing homes. She attends numerous seminars and symposiums discussing new laws relating to Elder Law and Estate Planning.

Thompson McMullan's elder law practice encompasses all aspects of planning for and representation of elderly and disabled clients. We provide counsel and seasoned representation in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, including judicial estate planning needed to establish trusts and complete transfers for tax and public benefits objectives. We have substantial experience in advising both institutional trust departments and individual clients regarding long term care issues, with special emphasis on protecting public entitlements rights for elderly, incapacitated and disabled persons. Our experience in this practice area includes: hospital and nursing home representation for discharge and admission of incapacitated adults; adult guardianships and conservatorships; family representation in civil commitment and psychiatric medication proceedings; special needs estate planning for Medicaid and disability recipients; Medicaid Special Needs Trusts / Medicare set aside arrangements in personal injury and worker compensation litigation; and Medicaid appeals.Hours
