Louisiana attorney Jimmy Long is the founder and President of Jimmy D. Long, Jr., L.L.C., a Natchitoches law office serving the people of Natchitoches, Sabine Parish and surrounding parishes in north and central Louisiana in the areas of estate planning, tax planning, business planning, special needs planning, charitable planning, asset protection and probate. His practice includes the drafting of wills, trusts and powers of attorney, business and personal tax plans, handling probate succession and estate administration matters, and advising clients on asset protection strategies.

After earning his juris doctorate law degree from Loyola University in New Orleans, Jimmy completed additional post-doctoral coursework in Tax Law at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is also certified as a Specialist in Estate Planning and Administration from the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. With his additional level of knowledge, skills and experience, Jimmy is able to advise and assist his clients in tax, estate planning and asset protection strategies that minimize and avoid any unnecessary tax liability for his clients and their successors, heirs and beneficiaries, including estate and gift tax, income tax and tax on capital gains.

Jimmy is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the National Association of Tax Professionals, the Academy of Special Needs Planners, and the Gift Attorney network.  He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts. He is the author of numerous publications and frequently provides instruction in continuing education courses for attorneys, accountants and financial advisors in the areas of estate planning, tax, probate, estate administration and asset protection.

Jimmy lives with his wife Mary and their three daughters in Natchitoches, where they are active in their church and community.
