Mr. Norrie started the firm as a solo practice in 1995. Before founding the firm, his previous experience included environmental and commercial litigation. He earned his law degree from Columbia Law School, and graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in History from the University of Hartford. His bar admissions include New Jersey, New York, and Colorado.

Firm Description

David T. Norrie, Esq., was admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey and the Bar of the State of New York in 1991. He was subsequently admitted to practice in Colorado as well. He holds a JD from Columbia University and is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Hartford with a BA in history. 

David began his legal career at the former Pitney Hardin Kipp & Szuch as an associate in the Environmental Litigation Department. In 1996, David went out on his own and formed what would become Norrie & Associates. The firm was headquartered in Mount Olive, NJ (with a satellite in Montclair) and focused on social security disability, guardianship, immigration, trusts and estates, real estate and elder law. 

After 20 years in Mount Olive, David decided to downsize and simplify. In order to give his clients more personal service, he closed the Mount Olive office and is a solo attorney once again. The practice is now limited to the following areas:

Special Needs Trusts
Elder Law
