Chad is originally from Florence, South Carolina. He is a graduate of Bob Jones University and the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He began his practice of law in Washington, D.C., first at the National Law Center for Children and Families, then with Senator Charles Grassley as staff counsel on the United States Senate Judiciary Committee. He also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney and as a federal prosecutor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He returned to the Upstate in 2008 where he resides with his wife, Gwen, and daughter, Ava. Chad's community service includes Rotary International Greenville East Club, Friends of the Greenville County Library and as a Deacon at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
